![]() ![]() ******************* May 24, 2019: Aladdin opens today and we’re seeing it this weekend! Princess Jasmine’s costumes are lit!!! When I was a Disney Cast Member, I actually worked in Agrabah! My very colorful Agrabah Bazaar costume Watch out below! That guy just got spit on by the camel! Insider Tip #3: Yes, the camel out front spits water….and a great distance! It’s controlled by a behind-the-scenes cast member, and yes, they can see you! □ The flying carpets flying over a splashing fountain below.įlying high over Agrabah on a magic carpet around a giant genie lamp: Flying high with the wind in my hair! Great views of Adventureland from up here! Caroline holding onto her flower crown in the wind. Insider Tip #2: Sit in the front seat to control how high your carpet flies and sit in the back seat to make it tilt forwards and back. In fact, there was no wait at all when we got there! Insider Tip #1: The wait times are always much, much shorter at the Flying Carpets than they are over at the Dumbo ride. The Magic Carpets of Aladdin is such a fun ride! We think that it’s a cooler version of the Dumbo ride because you pilot flying “magic carpets” instead of elephants. All aboard! Our flying carpet ride awaits… The wait lines for it are never very long. The Flying Carpets of Aladdin in Adventureland is one of our favorite rides at the Magic Kingdom. ***** Adventureland is our favorite land at the Magic Kingdom! We noticed that she was gone during our trips to Disney World earlier this year. We personally avoid her spitting water at us, but many guests love it! The Spitting Camel statue has been a staple of The Magic Carpets of Aladdin since 2001. HOT!!! So hot this weekend! 15 degrees above normal! The spitting beauty of Adventureland is back!Īfter undergoing refurbishment for a few months, the beloved Spitting Camel of Adventureland is back and just in time for this weekend’s sweltering heat, too. After that they spent time at the Soundstage Restaurant in that park.Watch out as you walk by her or you may get wet! They spit: The two spitting camels used around the attraction were originally built for the Aladdin's Royal Caravan parade at Disney's Hollywood Studios which ran from December 1992 to August 1995.To help them coexist peacefully stores and decorations in the area were changed to create a transition from the Arabic part of Adventureland to the South Pacific part. Prior to its arrival all of Adventureland was themed to the South Seas, just about as far away from Arabian theming as you could get. The introduction of The Magic Carpets of Aladdin also required some retheming in the surrounding areas. A change was quickly implemented so that cast members count parties rather than people and the magic tickets went away. Since parties frequently need to share magic carpets (one in front, one in the back) this created confusion when parties would split up or otherwise not sit as expected, creating loading issues. The problem was that the ticket represented one seat. Originally, "magic tickets" were issued to those at the front of the queue. One quick change made was in the boarding procedure. The Attraction's History: Not much room for change in such a short time, and mechanically the ride remains the same as in 2001.At this location: Even though it was not built until 2001, The Magic Carpets of Aladdin is the first structure of significance in this area.Weight and Size Issues: Even with front and back seats, the carpet units are surprisingly roomy and if preferred a rider can sit alone. When at rest the carpets are near the ground so no climbing is necessary.Īudio: The only audio is the safety spiel and control instructions. Wheelchair Transfer: Users of wheelchairs must be able to transfer to and from the carpet ride units. To fully experience the ride, ability to manipulate control levers is required. Users of wheelchairs will need to transfer to the ride units. Ride Access: Riders of ECVs must transfer to wheelchairs to navigate the queue. Health Restriction: Should be safe for people of all conditions. The theming for the area matches the ride, with tile mosaics and jewels embedded into the walkway. ![]() Queue Description: The queue surrounds the attraction and is mostly shaded. However, the lines tends to not get very long and wait times rarely approach 30 minutes. Wait Times: With an hourly capacity of only around 1,000 guests this is a slow moving line. This attraction is open during evening Extra Magic Hours but not the morning version.
